Le Diable à Cinq presents the album Indomptable (Untameable), which will be available on all platforms starting May 15.
The quintet is making a strong comeback in 2026, following a year marking its 10th anniversary during which it performed more than 50 shows in 7 countries. With this fourth studio album produced by Loïc Thériault (Valaire), the group delivers a collection of ten songs, half of which are entirely original compositions, while the other half draw on lyrics from the traditional repertoire. The original songs are inspired as much by contemporary themes (Jean Jolicoeur, Moins d’argent, On t’attend à cabane) as from a past that is revisited or brought to light (Mes chums irlandais, Les chaises d’Amédée).
Featuring a distinctly Quebec traditional sound (violin, banjo, accordion, foot percussion, piano, guitar, bass), Indomptable also features a textured layer with the subtle appearance of Carl Prévost and his electric guitars. Like its predecessors, Indomptable remains firmly rooted in the traditional genre while attempting to further develop the band’s distinctive sound.
Musicians and composers Samuel Sabourin, André-Michel Dambremont, Éloi Gagnon-Sabourin, Félix Sabourin and Rémi Pagé always remain attuned to various contemporary musical influences, without limiting themselves to a fixed traditional style, yet preserving the essence of folk music—music that everyone taps their feet to and sings out loud. This approach is a reappropriation by Le Diable à Cinq of timeless music, infusing it with their passion and their desire to get the party started and connect with their audience.
About Le Diable à Cinq
Le Diable à Cinqis Quebec’s most electrifying traditional band, fusing roots music with raw rock energy. Blending time-honored repertoire with bold original compositions, the quintet delivers high-octane performances that unite audiences and keep dance floors moving. Three albums, over 300 shows, and a dozen countries visited later, the five devils aren’t about to stop. Le Diable à Cinq now presents a fourth album that’s festive and firmly rooted in modernity, just in time for their summer tour. The band also welcomes violinist Guillaume Beaulieu (Edith Butler, La Veillée des Deux Pierrots, Big O String Band) for its upcoming tours. Beaulieu replaces Rémi Pagé, who has decided to set sail for new horizons after ten years with the band..
